Assistant Teacher – Montessori-Inspired Home Daycare (Toddlers)

Location: Pittsfield, MA

Schedule: Monday through Friday. 8:30am–4:30pm

Start Date: January 2nd, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Support toddlers in daily self-care routines such as dressing, toileting, and meals, using respectful and clear guidance
Foster independence and resilience through child-led learning and consistent, compassionate boundaries
Model and encourage age-appropriate social-emotional development and problem-solving
Create and participate in engaging activities that promote both fine and gross motor development
Contribute to the maintenance of a calm, organized, and aesthetically pleasing Montessori-inspired space
Assist with diapering and support toilet learning in alignment with each child’s readiness and family preferences
Maintain a clean and safe learning environment throughout the day
Log daily information (e.g., attendance, naps, meals, observations) through our daycare communication app
Collaborate respectfully and professionally with the daycare director and parents
Arrive consistently on time, with a positive and present attitude ready to support the children’s growth

Qualifications:

EEC Certified Teacher (Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care) *preferred*
Minimum **1 year of experience** working with children in a professional childcare or educational setting
Strong natural organizational skills and time management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior **Montessori or Montessori-inspired experience** — *highly preferred*
Commitment to ongoing learning, reflective practice, and professional growth
