A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Medical-Surgical Telemetry to provide exceptional care across multiple units. This role requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Location:Based in Cambridge, MA, this position offers the chance to serve a diverse patient population within a comprehensive hospital setting. The hospital features a 371-bed capacity with units ranging from 8 to 41 beds, supporting a broad spectrum of medical and surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Float between 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units including ED and acute mental health areas, adapting to varied patient care needs.
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours.
  • Manage cardiac drips effectively and respond to patients requiring critical care interventions.
  • Provide nursing care for emergency department border patients, medication administration in mental health units, and non-ventilated ICU transfer-ready patients.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for accurate, timely documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with clinical standards, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of two years acute care hospital nursing experience.
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac drip management.
  • Experience with TR Band applications.
  • Current Massachusetts RN License and AHA BLS certification required.
  • Ability to work with clinician-to-patient ratios up to 5:1 during days and evenings, and 6:1 at night.
  • Flexibility to primarily work days and evenings with minimal night rotations.

Schedule:

  • 36 hours per week, rotating days, evenings, and nights with every other weekend.
  • Contract position offering exposure to diverse clinical settings within the hospital.
