Mountain View Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated Medication Nursing Assistant (MNA) to join our team. In this role, you’ll support resident care by safely administering medications to residents under the direction of licensed nursing staff, while promoting a positive and professional care environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to residents via approved routes (oral, topical, nasal, ophthalmic, etc.) under RN/LPN delegation
- Provide PRN medications as directed by licensed nurses
- Recognize and report any changes in resident condition immediately
- Screen residents for pain using approved tools
- Assist with controlled substance counts and administration
- Maintain medication carts, restock supplies, and follow all MVNH policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively during shift reports and with the care team
- Uphold professional standards, resident privacy, and confidentiality
- Attend required meetings and complete ongoing education (12 hours annually)
- Work flexibly as an LNA or MNA based on resident and facility needs
Qualifications:
- Valid NH LNA license
- 2 years full-time LNA experience (or part-time equivalent of 4,160 hours over 5 years)
- Completion of NH Board of Nursing–approved MNA course
- Valid NH MNA certificate
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and compassion
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., push/pull equipment and assist with transfers
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods
- Manual dexterity, adequate hearing/vision, and emotional patience
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to physical exertion, heat/humidity, body fluids, and occasional emotional situations
- Category III infection exposure level
- Low Staff to Resident Ratios (6:1)
