We are working with a regional law firm with offices in the tri-state area and New England, seeking a Litigation Associate with at least one year of civil litigation experience to join their Boston, MA office.
Their ideal candidate has at least one year of experience working on civil litigation matters, preferably in insurance defense or a closely related practice area, at a law firm. Areas of focus may include General Liability and Premises Liability, Medical Malpractice Defense/Long-Term Care Facilities, Products Liability, Professional Liability, Commercial and Business Litigation, Trucking and Vehicular Liability Defense Construction, Employment and more! This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience alongside top AV-rated attorneys working on diverse and challenging cases. You'll have the opportunity to manage your own caseload from start to finish-drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, managing discovery, conducting legal research, taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions, preparing for and assisting in hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials, working closely with clients, experts and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies, and working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.
Candidates should have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts Bar, or sufficient UBE score to be admitted to the jurisdiction, upon hire, and at least one year of civil litigation experience in both Massachusetts state and federal courts. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, strong attention to detail, stellar written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.
