About this role
The Fireye Engineering department seeks an experienced, energetic, enthusiastic, and fast-paced Technical Project Manager. The candidate will become a part of a multi-site team supporting the design, fabrication and delivery of combustion related safety products in existing and new markets. They will support the Engineering department as well as an on-site factory, international clients, and manufacturing base. The candidate will spend time coordinating efforts across multiple departments and sites and must manage multiple phase-gated design projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for all aspects of program initiation, planning, and execution (cost, schedule, technical performance, quality, customer engagement, etc.) and ensuring program commitments are met
- Able to lead a cross-functional product development team by leveraging technical expertise, analysis of the situation and options, and experience using skills to influence the team
- The ability to communicate effectively with all parts of a cross-functional organization (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Quality, etc.)
- Will create and present project status, risks, and mitigations to business leadership using Microsoft tools and project dashboards
- When faced with limited information, can identify risks & issues, leverage the expertise of the team to determine the best course of action, and communicate necessary information to key stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient with MS Project or other project management tools
- Experience using ERP and PLM systems with a product development organization
- Minimum 2 years of PM experience, leading and inspiring diverse cross-functional teams in a high-tempo, engineering environment while collaborating with other key stakeholders (ie: Finance, Operations, Vendors)
- Engineering background that supports the ability to assess technical risk and formulate mitigation strategies
- Experience integrating scope, schedule, budget and risk for the successful execution of program’s objectives
- Ability to work in-office with minimal opportunities to work from home.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Engineering degree - preferably in Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
- Experienced with regulatory/requirements-based development standards (FAA, DoD, FDA or other)
- Experience with Product Life Cycle Management
- Experience working manufacturing to deliver physical goods to international markets
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Preferred)
- Working knowledge or proposal development for vendors and new opportunities
- Strong communication skills, both internal and customer facing
- Strong leadership in ethics and safety
Physical Limitations:
- The employee is periodically required to perform repetitive movements
- The employee may occasionally be required to visit field installations at factories and commercial establishments
- Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials
- The employee is occasionally required to reach overhead with hands and arms; rotate body from sitting and standing position and lift and carry weight up to 30 lbs
- A normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct a normal amount of work on a computer
- The employee is regularly required to walk and move around; use of hands to feel, touch, grasp, or grip tools, objects, or handles
