We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for the remainder of the school year in the Plaistow, New Hampshirearea. This position offers a great opportunity to work in a dynamic school environment and support students with speech and language needs under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Position Summary:
The SLPA will work closely with students in the school district to implement speech and language therapy services, assisting students in meeting their speech and communication goals. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, a passion for helping students succeed, and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and families to support student progress.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Implement therapy plans and activities based on the SLPs direction and goals for each student.
- Work with students in both individual and small group settings to address speech, language, and communication challenges.
- Monitor and document student progress, collecting data on treatment plans and outcomes.
- Support students with articulation, language development, fluency, and social communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate speech therapy goals into the students educational programs.
- Provide students with necessary accommodations and modifications to facilitate successful communication and learning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and any concerns.
- Assist with classroom communication needs as directed by the supervising SLP.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program, or related field.
- Current SLPA certification in New Hampshire(required).
- Experience working within a school districtis required.
- Knowledge of speech and language development, articulation, and communication disorders.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and deliver therapy effectively under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student success.
