PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The Production Planner is responsible for optimizing material availability and production schedules for vehicle scanner products. This role bridges the gap between Production, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure manufacturing targets are met through data-driven planning and inventory accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct material scenarios at top-level and sub-assembly stages to drive "clear to build" status and maintain the master production schedule.
- Create and manage build assemblies within the manufacturing ERP system to ensure accurate production tracking.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies; collaborate cross-functionally to process non-conforming material.
- Partner with Purchasing to implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and manage the phase-in/phase-out of components.
- Lead production updates in daily cross-functional Teams meetings, providing status on material availability and scheduling constraints.
- Support the department in organizing procedures, records, and Lean manufacturing reports.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; professional certifications (CPIM, CSCP, or ISM) or higher education strongly preferred.
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment with direct experience in MRP/ERP systems and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (data analysis); strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and multitasking.
