Part Time/Temporary Contingency Management Staff

The Role: As a member of the contingency management project staff, this individual will provide a combination of direct service and administrative work. This role will have multiple responsibilities ranging from supporting in-person project interactions as well as supporting client tracking, data entry, and incentive management. This role will interface with clients, program staff, and agency leadership to ensure all aspects of the project are supported.

Location: In Person in Burlington, Vermont
Schedule: Part Time (3-6 hours weekly for 1 year)
Compensation: $20/hour

Responsibilities:

Be attentive and available at all times during scheduled hours

Independent and reliable transportation to and from the project site, timeliness
-
Provide in person support to clients
-
Specimen collection and handling (urine)
-
Communicate to clients project rules and expectations
-
Maintain thorough understanding of policies and procedures of project
-
Create and maintain project records, utilizing spreadsheets (excel) and program EHR (foothold)
-
Coordinate, facilitate and monitor referrals
-
Attendance at regularly scheduled meetings and supervision
-
Support with incentive management, including loading and distributing gift cards and supporting with user access

Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Knowledge of Contingency Management theory, protocol, policies
-
Understanding of harm reduction principles
-
Lived experience of having been incarcerated, under supervision and/or in the criminal justice system will be considered an asset
-
Lived experience of mental health, substance use, homelessness and/or other life challenges will be considered an asset
-
Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to persons with disabilities and other minority populations.

Prior experience working in a mental health and/or harm reduction agency, preferably in community services preferred.

A good understanding of the issues facing persons with mental health challenges or substance use issues, particularly as related to meeting basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and advocacy. In particular, knowledge of the criminal justice system and how it impacts individuals with mental health challenges is valuable

Physical Requirements:

Ability to independently get to and from project site

Regular interaction with clients
-
Extending and/or grasping with hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction at times when collecting paperwork, assisting with applications, completing hand-written forms, etc.

Ability to ascend and descend stairs occasionally required (in instances when businesses and/or meeting places do not have an elevator)

Regular operation of a laptop computer and other office machinery including frequent typing and extensive reading.

Frequent oral communication through spoken word for sharing of ideas and giving or receiving detailed information.
