Job Description

Job Description About Boulevard Machine

For over seventy years, Boulevard Machine has crafted precise, complex aerospace components from our clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art facility in Westfield, MA. We are a close-knit, team-oriented shop that invests in modern technology and the people who run it. We offer competitive wages, health, dental, disability, and life insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid holidays, and ongoing growth opportunities.

Day in the Life

When you arrive on first shift, you step into a supportive environment of experienced machinists who collaborate to solve hard problems. You begin by reviewing prints and models for a new aerospace component, validating GD&T and material notes for Inconel and titanium. You open Mastercam 2026 to program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical and horizontal mills and lathes, selecting optimum tooling and strategies. You design a fixture to secure a complex geometry, then write clear setup instructions, detailed process drawings, and tooling lists so the team can execute flawlessly. As the part runs, you perform and guide setup, make minor on-machine adjustments, hold tight tolerances, and shepherd the technical direction of larger projects through the shop—always communicating changes and collaborating across the team.

What You'll Do

  • Generate efficient CNC code in Mastercam 2026 for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling and turning, vertical and horizontal platforms.
  • Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine the optimal tooling, methods, and end-to-end manufacturing process.
  • Design fixtures and workholding to safely and accurately process complex parts.
  • Create setup sheets, process documentation, and tooling lists to guide operations.
  • Perform and support setups, operate equipment as needed, and make minor adjustments to achieve close tolerances.
  • Provide technical leadership on large projects moving through the shop.

What You Bring

  • At least 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Mastercam 2026 proficiency required, with strong solids/solid modeling programming experience.
  • Hands-on capability in core processes: turning and milling.
  • Comfort machining challenging alloys, including Inconel and titanium.
  • Working knowledge of special processes (heat treat, plating, and non-destructive testing).
  • Fluency in GD able to interpret and apply to manufacturing plans.
  • CAD proficiency; SolidWorks experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability to change, and a team-first mindset—willing to help in other areas when needed.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • A supportive, talented team of machinists who share knowledge generously.
  • A modern, well-equipped shop with advanced technologies.
  • Engaging, varied work—no monotonous high-volume production.
  • First-shift role with the stability of a longstanding, growing company.
