About the Role:

Aquila Technology is seeking a System Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Systems Engineer will participate in the development of new radar software and in the sustainment of existing radar software. The candidate will work within a small team of engineers on software development and software maintenance of OTH Radar systems and similar associated systems. The Systems Engineer will develop, maintain code and integrate with hardware for real-time and off-line applications. As well as implement and test software modifications and algorithms using C++ and MATLAB. Software will be professionally packaged, tested, documented, and delivered for use by others. Good programming practice and testing is required. The quality of the software will be at TRL level 7 – System prototype demonstration in an operational environment.

There are a few requirements for the position:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen- Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
  • Must be within 100 miles of worksite (Lexington, MA)

Required Skills:

  • Expert in MATLAB and C++
  • Experience with AI/ML
  • Experience with software integration of radar hardware
  • Experience using DDS open architecture development (RTI implementation preferred)
  • Experience with standard signal processing techniques (Fourier transforms, filters, etc.)
  • Experience in OTH Radar
  • Prior experience with radar tracking and radar signal processing
  • The candidate should be well versed in all aspects of software development including: management, documentation, coding standards, configuration control and software testing
  • Possess strong skills in engineering troubleshooting, being able to identify and remediate faults that present themselves within the system.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with parallel processing

Clearance Level: Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance to be considered for this position. - MUST BE US CITIZEN

Work Location: Hybrid - Individual works from home or off-site for a portion of their schedule and within a routinely commutable distance from the Lexington facility. Candidates should expect to work onsite 3 days a week.

Travel: Estimated at 25% both domestic and international field sites / temporary test sites.

Interview Process: Initial pre-screen with hiring manager. If a candidate advances, the next round of interviews will be with the Group Leaders and Technical Staff Team.
