Job Title: Automotive Equipment Installation Technician
Salary and Benefits:
- $18–$28 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience, with the potential for $30 per hour for the right candidate).

About the Role:
As an Automotive Equipment Installation Technician in a small business, you will work hands-on with every project. From fitting emergency lights to installing toolboxes, your efforts will ensure our customers’ vehicles are equipped and ready to perform reliably and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Warning Lighting: Install and configure LED light bars, strobe lights, and other emergency lighting systems.
- Prisoner Cell Installation: Safely install prisoner cells in law enforcement vehicles while adhering to safety standards.
- Console and Computer Equipment: Install and configure consoles and computer equipment, ensuring proper connectivity and functionality.
- Toolboxes and Storage Solutions: Install secure and accessible toolboxes and storage solutions for trucks.
- Transfer Tanks and Inverters: Ensure proper wiring and safety protocols while installing transfer tanks and inverters.
- Two-Way Radio Installation: Set up and configure two-way radios for clear communication.
- Truck Equipment and Accessories: Install various truck equipment and accessories, including bed liners and ladder racks.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks to ensure all installations meet our high standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all installations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, addressing their questions and concerns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in automotive technology is a plus.
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
- Ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling, for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in diverse weather conditions.
Work Environment:
- Shop environment and minimal on-site at customer locations.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times.
