Job Description
Lead with Purpose: Become a Summer Camp Coordinator and Make a Lasting Impact!
Are you passionate about helping individuals unlock their potential and embrace their creativity? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments, leading with purpose and heart? If you’re an organized, compassionate problem-solver with a knack for managing logistics and coordinating events, we want you to be part of our summer camp team!
At Rural Arts, we harness the transformative power of the arts to empower individuals to become well-rounded and engaged members of their communities. Our camp is not just a place for fun and games; it’s a space where young people discover resilience, creativity, and a deeper sense of purpose in their lives. We believe in providing the tools for personal growth, self-expression, and skill development that will stay with them long after the camp ends.
As our Summer Camp Administrative Coordinator, you will be the heartbeat of our summer camp experience. From managing the day-to-day logistics to supporting camp counselors and communicating with families, you’ll play an integral role in creating an atmosphere of positivity, growth, and creativity.
Why You Should Apply:
-
Work with Purpose: While your ability to communicate clearly, handle challenges, and maintain composure under pressure will directly shape the experience for campers and staff alike, this isn’t just about logistics – it’s about supporting a mission that gives individuals the tools to succeed in all aspects of their lives, both inside and outside the camp.
-
Lead with impact: You'll be a role model for resilience, leadership, and creative thinking as you guide camp counselors, providing support and encouragement to ensure they create a positive, enriching environment for the campers.
-
Collaborate with a Passionate Team: You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll work alongside other coordinators, each with their own area of expertise, to provide a well-rounded and meaningful experience for all involved.
-
Thriving in the Energy: While most of your interactions will be with adults, the vibrant energy and noise of the camp are part of the magic. You'll be part of a team that embraces the chaos while making sure everything runs smoothly.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Experience with Logistics/Planning: You have a background in event coordination or logistics, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
-
Strong Communication Skills: You’ll be managing relationships with families and staff, so you must be clear, approachable, and able to explain complex information and handle difficult conversations with professionalism and grace.
-
Leadership Experience: You’ll be overseeing camp counselors, so experience in leadership and staff supervision is essential. You know how to motivate others, provide constructive feedback, and foster a positive team environment.
-
Comfort with Fast-Paced Environments: Our camp is full of energy, and sometimes you’ll need to step in as a counselor or manage unexpected situations. You need to stay calm under pressure and handle the day-to-day logistics with ease.
-
Flexibility and Initiative: The role requires someone who can take initiative, solve problems quickly, and adapt to the ever-changing environment of a summer camp.
-
Passion for Our Mission: You believe in the transformative power of the arts and want to be part of a team that helps campers develop skills, confidence, and resilience.
What You’ll Do:
-
Manage Camp Logistics: From managing schedules to supporting vendors and staff, you’ll stay two steps ahead and keep everything running smoothly so that everyone can focus on what really matters: the campers.
-
Be the Go-To for Families: Provide families with timely updates, answer questions, and ensure they feel supported and informed throughout the camp experience.
-
Lead and Supervise Camp Counselors: Guide your team of counselors, ensuring they have the tools, support, and motivation to create an environment that fosters growth and creativity.
-
Collaborate with Other Coordinators: Work closely with the Behavior, Enrichment, and Health & Safety coordinators to create a holistic, safe, and engaging camp experience.
-
Step In When Needed: When the energy gets high or an unexpected challenge arises, you may need to jump in and assist campers, providing support and helping to maintain a positive environment.
If you're looking for an opportunity to use your organizational skills in service of making a difference in the lives of young people, this is the role for you. Apply now and help us empower the next generation of creative leaders!
