Overall Responsibilities: The Quality Technician is responsible for preparing, reviewing and maintaining FAIR and AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to ensure compliance with customer, industry and internal requirements.

Duties:

  • Prepare completed First Article Inspection Reports and AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports for new product, revision changes and process changes.
  • Collect and verify dimensional, material and process data from production, inspection and suppliers.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions to document in FAIR.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Purchasing to resolve discrepancies and obtain missing data.
  • Take clear, high-quality photographs of product for inclusion in FAIRs and quality records.
  • Label, organize, and store photographs in accordance with quality system documentation practices.
  • Ensure FAIRs are submitted to customers on time and in the correct format.
  • Maintain FAIR documentation and records in accordance with quality system requirements and AS9100 standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing FAI documentation and evidence of compliance.
  • Assist in developing and improving FAIR preparation processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace quality assurance, inspection or manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience preparing FAIRs and AS9102 FAIRs.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 standards.
  • Experience using cameras or mobile devices to take clear product photographs.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
