Position Summary:

The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our Adult and Children’s programs. In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive team that serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking mental health services—helping connect people with the care they need, when they need it most. The Patient Access Specialist is a full time position that involves screening phone requests from individuals and other agencies for MHCGM clinical services as well as face to face screening of persons who walk in for our Open Access Intakes. The position requires: telephone interviewing and assessment skills; referral and placement; and requires handling emergency calls and accessing appropriate resources for persons in crisis.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct phone screenings for individuals and partner agencies requesting MHCGM clinical services
  • Provide in-person screenings for walk-ins seeking support through our Open Access Intake process
  • Use strong interviewing and assessment skills to gather essential information and determine appropriate next steps
  • Coordinate referrals and placement for a variety of behavioral health services
  • Manage emergency and crisis calls with professionalism, empathy, and quick access to appropriate resources

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have excellent communication skills, an ability to multi-task, data entry proficiency, attention to detail, and confidentiality a must.


Requirements

Qualifications: Computer experience: Microsoft Office, Excel, and experience with an Electronic Medical Record preferred.


Education: The position requires a minimum of a High School diploma.


Experience: Three-plus years of office experience is a plus.
