The Physical Security Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of bank facilities, physical assets, and sensitive data. This role combines expertise in physical security systems, asset management, and risk mitigation to protect the bank's infrastructure, equipment, and personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in security protocols, asset tracking, and auditing with a focus on safeguarding physical assets and ensuring operational continuity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive physical security strategies for bank branches, corporate offices, and off-site locations.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of security systems (e.g., CCTV surveillance, access control systems, intruder alarms, and panic buttons) to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and provide recommendations to the Security Director for enhancing security measures.
  • Document and develop procedures/process flows for the accurate tracking and management of physical bank assets, including cash handling equipment, IT infrastructure, vaults, office supplies, and vehicles.
  • Maintain a detailed inventory system, ensuring all assets are recorded, tagged, and easily traceable.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of bank assets to verify their condition, location, and compliance with security policies.
  • Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and safeguarding of high-value assets, such as safes, ATMs, and sensitive banking equipment.
  • Provide training and support for employee on Safety and security from time to time as well as assess and development of training. Assist with the training for staff on security awareness, emergency procedures, asset management protocols, and the handling of sensitive information and equipment.
  • Instruct departments to ensure the proper acquisition, allocation, maintenance, and decommissioning of assets.
  • Identify, assess, and manage security and asset-related risks to minimize the potential for loss, theft, or damage.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and report on compliance to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal policies for physical security and asset protection, providing recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Security Director to document and investigate any incidents related to physical security breaches, asset loss, or damage, and provide detailed reports to management.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on security incidents, audits, and asset management activities, including recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Track and analyze security data to identify trends, report findings, and implement necessary corrective measures to reduce risk exposure.
  • Serve as a contact for employees and contractors regarding security concerns and asset management inquiries.
  • Provide timely support for new and current employees with issuance of access control badges, record keeping and interface with building security on access control.
  • Assist in promoting a culture of security awareness across all departments to ensure that all employees understand their role in protecting the bank's assets and facilities.
  • Work closely with the Facilities, IT, and Risk Management teams to integrate physical security measures with broader organizational policies and objectives.
  • Coordinate with external security vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers to ensure seamless asset management and security operations.
  • Develop cost estimates and budgets for security related to existing and new facilities.
  • Perform additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.

  • This position requires some evening and weekend availability as business needs arise.
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Must have reliable transportation; must be flexible and able to adapt to new job locations and re-assignments as directed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years minimum in security related role
  • College degree or experience equivalent.
