Northeast Fire Systems, an Altus Fire & Life Safety Company, located in Hopkinton, MA is looking for a Fire Alarm Systems Programmer to join our team! The Fire Alarm Systems Programmer is primarily responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver reliable and top-notch customer support, offering clear instructions on system operation and functionality.
  • Conduct thorough system testing and signal verification to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory of equipment, tools, and necessary resources in the company vehicle.
  • Make effective use of technical resources, information, and support to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
  • Work with our in-house Project Manager to ensure tasks are progressed and completed within defined timelines, meeting or exceeding project expectations.
  • Create detailed documentation of services performed, hours worked, and task-related activities. Create all close-out documents as required or requested with PM assistance.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Act as a point of reference for complex field situations, identifying and implementing effective resolutions.
  • Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1+ year experience programming fire alarm systems
  • Prior experience in Notifier programming IE Onyx and N16 panels a plus
  • Certification in programing from any fire alarm manufacturer, Notifier preferred.
  • Advanced programming skills and familiarity with smoke control.
  • Full understanding of local and national codes.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
