Medical Assistant – Blue Heron Primary Care (Full Time)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable Medical Assistant to join our primary care team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will support physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care in our busy primary care clinic. This position plays a critical role in both the clinical and administrative operations of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

· Greet and prepare patients for examination, including recording vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.

· Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed.

· Perform basic laboratory tests (phlebotomy), collect specimens, and ensure accurate documentation of results.

· Administer medications and immunizations under the supervision of a licensed provider.

· Maintain exam rooms by cleaning, stocking supplies, and ensuring infection control standards are followed.

· Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, processing referrals, and updating medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

· Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider.

· Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

· Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.

· Previous experience in a primary care or outpatient clinical setting is highly desirable.

· Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

· Proficient with electronic health records and common office software.

· Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

· Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Work Schedule & Compensation

This is a full-time position, typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
