This opportunity calls for an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse skilled in delivering urgent, patient-centered care. The role is based in a dynamic emergency setting featuring a mix of procedure rooms, hallway beds, and a secured psychiatric annex, supporting a diverse patient population including complex cardiac, trauma, and psychiatric cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department using evidence-based protocols.
- Perform procedures such as trauma response, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma management, IV and IO insertions, EKGs, and psychiatric assessments.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Utilize advanced equipment including ultrasound, Lucas Device, rapid infusion systems, and electronic medication administration tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Sunrise/Allscripts electronic medical record system.
- Adapt quickly to fluctuating patient volumes, maintaining a flexible 4:1 patient ratio and responding effectively during acute surges.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are mandatory.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, backed by excellent communication and dependability.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology and EKG interpretation.
- Ability to work weekend shifts every other weekend.
