Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Associate Attorney with a strong interest in estate planning and probate work. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or attorney with up to two years of experience to build a career in one of the fastest-growing areas of law. You will work closely with senior estate planning attorneys, clients, and support staff to draft and implement estate plans, assist with probate matters, and develop skills that will make you a trusted advisor to individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, and other estate planning documents under attorney supervision.
- Assist in probate and trust administration, including preparing court filings and correspondence.
- Conduct client intake interviews to gather personal and financial information for estate planning purposes.
- Research estate, tax, and probate law issues and prepare legal memoranda.
- Attend and participate in client meetings, taking notes and assisting in follow-up actions.
- Work collaboratively with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure deadlines are met and matters are handled efficiently.
- Maintain organized and accurate client files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Stay informed about developments in estate and tax law relevant to our practice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Massachusetts Bar (or eligibility to be admitted promptly).
- Strong writing and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
- Professional and empathetic communication skills with clients.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
- Desire to build a career in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
Preferred but Not Required
- Coursework or internship experience in estate planning, elder law, probate, or tax.
- Admission to additional New England state bars.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages.
