Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Milford, MA 01757
Pay Rate: $20–$22/hr
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary
The Phlebotomist I is responsible for performing high-quality blood draws and specimen preparation while delivering a positive and professional patient experience. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced clinical environment. Creating a calm and reassuring experience for patients is essential to supporting excellent care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections using straight needles and butterfly techniques
• Accurately label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens per test requirements
• Verify all test requisitions and specimen labels to ensure 100% accuracy
• Collect, package, and prepare specimens for transport while maintaining proper temperature control
• Maintain detailed records including maintenance logs, decontamination documentation, and patient updates
• Clearly and courteously explain procedures to patients to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation
• Follow all OSHA, DEP, HIPAA, and infection control standards
• Properly wear and utilize required PPE at all times
• Maintain clean, organized, and stocked work areas and phlebotomy stations
• Answer incoming calls and assist with laboratory-related inquiries as needed
• Participate in required annual trainings and competency updates
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory operations
Must Have Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced lab, hospital, or clinical setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state regulations (CA, NV, WA, and LA require certification)

• Strong patient interaction and communication skills, both in person and over the phone
• High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage workflow efficiently
