About the Opportunity

Our client, a respected leader in the intellectual property (IP) field, is seeking an experienced Trademark Docketing Clerk to join their expanding Trademark Group. This position supports critical docketing and administrative functions related to U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution.


This role can be fully remote, with occasional office visits preferred. The ideal candidate lives within a commutable distance to the firm's Boston office and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.


Required Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years of experience in Trademark Docketing, ideally within a law firm or IP-focused organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency with WebTMS or similar IP docketing software.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Trademark Docketing System (WebTMS).
  • Process all incoming trademark, copyright, and dispute correspondence from the USPTO, clients, and foreign trademark offices.
  • Manage new trademark matters using WebTMS and the firm’s document management system.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly docket reports to ensure timely updates and accuracy.
  • Review, de-docket, and update deadlines as matters progress; ensure all actions are properly recorded.
  • Research and verify case data through USPTO and international trademark office databases.
  • Support IP client intake, transfer requests, and coordination between Records, Billing, and Matter Maintenance teams.
  • Stay current with intellectual property laws, USPTO procedural changes, and international trademark regulations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining docketing manuals and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to maintain a smooth workflow.
