Job Overview
The Building Maintenance & Carpentry Associate supports the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and improvement of company buildings, grounds, and workspaces to ensure a safe and functional environment. The position is hands-on and ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable performing a variety of general maintenance tasks independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on company buildings, facilities, and surrounding grounds.
  • Conducts regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and repair opportunities.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, work orders, and instructions to understand maintenance and project requirements.
  • Fabricates, repairs, and installs wood structures, fixtures, and custom items as needed to support facility operations.
  • Troubleshoots general building, mechanical, and facility-related issues and determines appropriate corrective actions.
  • Supports facility improvement projects from planning through completion.
  • Assists with maintenance of exterior areas such as walkways, dock areas, fencing, and general grounds.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors and contractors during repairs, inspections, or facility improvement projects.
  • Ensures tools, equipment, and work areas are cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
  • Maintains accurate records related to maintenance work, inspections, and completed projects as needed.
  • Complies with all company safety procedures, facility policies, and applicable regulations.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of general building and facilities maintenance
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools used in maintenance, carpentry, and general repair work
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, drawings, and instructions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple departments
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, preferred.
  • Positive attitude and personal integrity

Physical Conditions

  • Able to lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Able and willing to work outdoors in varying extreme weather conditions.
  • Able to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing.
  • Able to walk and be on your feet for at least 80% of the day.
  • Able to reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • Able to work in warehouse and outdoor environment, around related equipment.


Job Type: Full time, Monday-Friday, 100% on-site & regular attendance required
