Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school nurse is needed to provide specialized care for students with complex medical needs in a middle school setting in Portsmouth, NH. This contracted position runs through the current school year and involves working closely with students requiring one-on-one nursing support.

Two Registered Nurse (RN) positions are available:

• Caseload A Full Time:

  • Provide nursing care for a 1:1 male middle school student with Type I Diabetes
  • Must have prior training and experience managing Type I Diabetes
  • Responsibilities include assisting the student during school hours and while riding the bus
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM (including bus rides and early release days)

• Caseload B Part Time:

  • Provide nursing care for a 1:1 preschool student with complex medical issues including NG tube and seizure management
  • Anticipated hours are Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from about 8:00 to 11:00 AM
  • Bus riding with the student may be required
  • Start date anticipated mid-February, pending arrival of medical equipment

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed RN in the state of New Hampshire
• Experience in school nursing with demonstrated ability to manage Type I Diabetes and complex pediatric medical needs
• Comfortable working independently and providing 1:1 nursing care in a school environment
• Ability to accompany students on school transportation as required

Responsibilities:

• Administer specialized care and monitor student health throughout the school day and during transportation
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure student safety and well-being
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies
