Salary Range: $21.50 to 26.75 per hour Based on experience level

Position Overview

As a Behavioral Health Medical Assistant, you will work closely with providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, coordinated care. This includes assisting in care coordination of this patient population, processing prior authorizations and refill request, collecting specimen for drug testing, preparing rooms for patients and taking vital signs. This position will be cross training in at least one of the following departments in addition to Behavioral Health: Medication Assisted Recovery and Primary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the behavioral health team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Primary point of contact for prescription processing and refills for both MAT program as well as prescribing behavioral health providers.
  • Processing prior authorizations and assisting with and resolving insurance issues.
  • Collaborates with MAT RN in managing the daily appointment schedule. Prioritized getting patients out of the waiting area and in to the room for MAT Team visits (as well as facilitates the timely completion of visits)
  • Supports all teams in meeting Quality Improvement Goals.
  • Supports the patient in improving access to health resources and social services.

Qualifications

  • MA Certification and/or Two year Associates’ Degree required.
  • Two years’ experience in ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Prior experience with behavioral health and/or substance misuse population preferred.
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced, diverse setting
  • Comfort with electronic health records (Athena or similar) and telehealth platforms

This position is eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.00.
