The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing and executing all essential accounting functions for a portfolio of stabilized and/or development-stage properties. This job function includes reviewing, managing, auditing, and analyzing all financial matters related to the assigned portfolio.
Responsibilities will include preparation and oversight of financial reports, budgeting, cash management, accounts payable and receivable, and variance analyses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Record accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP
- Record journal entries and facilitate the month-end closing process
- Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Responsible for maintaining the general ledger and updating supporting schedules and workbooks
- Provide budget to actual variance analysis
- Prepare financial packages for audit and tax accounts, respond to tax & audit inquiries
- Serve as a resource and assist with preparation of portfolio annual budgets
- Provide backup and support to the accounting manager and controller as needed
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned

Experience in Multi Family Real Estate accounting preferred.
