Job DescriptionPosition Title: Litigation Attorney, Insurance and Catastrophic Loss Group
Location: Boston
About the Opportunity

Seeking an Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join an Insurance Catastrophic Loss / Litigation Practice Group. Training in all aspects of the insurance catastrophic loss practice will be provided to experienced litigators, as needed. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, hard-working, and eager to build a successful career within a nationally respected firm.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in pre-litigation coverage analysis and evaluation, including drafting coverage opinions in the first and third party context, declinations, and reservations of rights letters.
• Assist in all phases of national litigation, including drafting of pleadings, written discovery, document productions, preparation for depositions (taking and/or defending), motion practice, case management and tracking deadlines.
• Manage a diverse case load and effectively prioritize assignments.
• Draft relevant correspondence as may be appropriate to each phase of case development and progression.
• Conduct detailed legal research, comprehensive factual review and analysis as it relates to coverage issues and strategic trial preparations. Evaluate and appropriately assess the legal implications of your findings and queuing up these findings as appropriate to senior attorneys.
• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, experts, and clients to assess coverage issues, exposure and develop case strategies.
• Participate in client meetings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and hearings as experience allows.
• Proactively support and drive complex case management involving multiple parties and jurisdictions.Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• A member in good standing of the Massachusetts Bar Association as well as bar associations in any state in which you have been admitted to practice law.
2–4 years of litigation experience. Insurance coverage (first and/or third party) a strong plus, but not required.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated interest in insurance law, catastrophic loss, and trial advocacy.Items Needed to Apply: Resume, Cover Letter, Writing Sample.
