Job Description

Copernican Clinical Services (CCS) invites Licensed Psychologists, Licensure Pending Psychologists, and Psychologists who are eligible to sit for the EPPP to join our practice as a staff psychologist with full access to our advanced staff development program.

We are fully committed to integrated treatment that values our patients’ learning styles, range of cultural backgrounds, and overall level of diversity. Our approach to treatment is clinically robust in that we use an assortment of evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, MI, ACT, and Change Theory that are delivered in conjunction with treatment plans that are customized according to each patient’s learning profile. We fully integrate psychological testing data from our customized testing batteries into all aspects of our holistically based, learning informed approach to treatment.

Our Practice Offers:

Professional Development: We will help you build your connections with members of the Boston mental health community thereby increasing your professional standing and ability to function as an independent practitioner. We are not a large, cookie-cutter corporate entity, but a small boutique practice that understands how to help clinicians thrive in Boston’s bustling, academically focused, mental health community.

Supervision: We have trained dozens of mental health professionals for over 20 years in a range of settings, including Boston’s major teaching hospitals and more recently with William James College’s doctoral program. Staff members receive supervision with a senior staff psychologist for both therapy and assessment if they prefer for 1-2 hours per week. Supervision includes guidance on how to coordinate treatment with school-based teams, outside agencies, and a constellation of treaters that rely on our clinicians to take the lead in coordinating a range of treatment interventions. We also offer staff members training in how to supervise post-doctoral and practicum-level trainees who participate in our training program. These opportunities include the ability to present at our clinical/testing weekly rounds.

Multi-Modality Treatment (MMT): Training in MMT includes an understanding of how to synergistically integrate family systems interventions into individual and group therapy modalities. This synergy allows our clinicians to integrate treatment processes/learning models/clinical gains into the patient’s outpatient team, school program/IEP, and court/agency-related team. Please see our detailed description of our approach to treatment on our Multi-Modality Treatment (MMT) web page (Click Link).

Advanced Testing & Collaboration Software Integration: We will teach you how to utilize state of the art medical record documentation software as well as advanced team collaboration software to track treatment progress and efficiently coordinate your work with large treatment teams within and outside of our group. These advanced systems facilitate the production of customized testing batteries that are fully integrated into our treatment programs and our patient’s family systems and academic placements.

Pathway to Independent Practice: Staff members who have partnered with us over the last ten years frequently stay on staff and take on roles in our training program. Those who have chosen to leave have developed the skills to successfully transition into their own independent practices or at times focus their energy into academic research.

Group Therapy: Training as a co-therapist in our group therapy program can include group work in our specialized DBT, Anger Management, or College Transition programs. All of our group therapy programs are fully integrated into our other treatment offerings and as such they provide our treaters with group-based clinical data that is essential in addressing treatment concerns related to social skill development and interpersonal strengths/challenges.

Compensation: While we value being in the world and finding a sense of connection with each other we also acknowledge that “Love does not pay the rent!” So CCS offers a competitive level of compensation to help pay the rent in addition to the following benefits:

· Retirement Benefits: A generous retirement plan with employer-matched contributions

· Medical Benefits: A flexible medical benefit plan that offers pre-tax medical/dental coverage

· Vacation Time: The ability to eventually earn up to six weeks of paid time off per year

· Flex time: A flexible schedule that offers a combination of remote health sessions and in-person therapy sessions
