Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available at an elementary school serving middle school students in Wilmington, MA. This contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, offering a full-time schedule.

In this role, you will work as a Stages Teacher, focusing on social-emotional learning (SEL) skills. Collaboration with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a key component, particularly in developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Proficiency in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques is also essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering tailored special education instruction to middle school students
  • Collaborating closely with BCBA professionals to support behavioral and educational goals
  • Implementing and adapting BIPs and IEPs based on student needs and progress
  • Fostering SEL development through evidence-based strategies and classroom activities
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and communication with the educational team

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of SEL principles and CBT methods
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for students with special needs
