MCS is seeking a passionate, dynamic Director of Residential Services to oversee and inspire excellence across 19 community-based group homes serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a rare opportunity to shape lives, build teams, and ensure that services not only meet — but exceed — the highest standards of care and compliance.
The Director of Residential Services will provide leadership, high-level oversight, and strategic direction to ensure quality, compliance, and compassion are at the forefront of everything we do. You’ll supervise a team of program leaders and support staff, maintain regulatory standards, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading operations and oversight for 19 residential group homes
- Supporting and developing a team of professionals to deliver person-centered services
- Ensuring full compliance with all state, federal, and agency regulations (including DDS licensure and accreditation)
- Monitoring quality outcomes and service satisfaction, and using data to identify areas for improvement
- Managing budgets, staffing, and program resources efficiently and effectively
- Fostering meaningful relationships with individuals served, families, staff, and community stakeholders
- Collaborating across departments and participating in strategic planning at the organizational level
- Serving as a key contributor to agency leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred); equivalent combination of education and experience considered
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in human services, preferably with DDS residential programs
- Knowledge of Massachusetts DDS service delivery and regulatory systems
- Strong team-building, communication, and organizational skills
- Calm, solutions-focused leadership and crisis management abilities
- Proficiency with technology and a commitment to learning and growth
