The specific pay rate/salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by several factors including experience, education, specialized certifications from OEMs, and where the job is located.

The Technician is responsible for fixing a vehicle after it’s been damaged. You will perform quality structural, body, frame, and unibody repairs.  Assisting the estimator with accurate estimates and minimizing the need for supplements.  Understanding the repair vs replacement process is important in the position.

Job Requirements:

  • 3 plus years of auto-body collision experience preferred

  • Follow the company blueprinting process and disassembly procedures (DFR) for all vehicle inspections

  • Disassemble vehicles after the initial estimate, inspect all vehicles for internal structure and parts from the initial inspection (estimate), and identify additional damage

    Complete disassembly of the vehicle to assist estimators in assessing damage to prepare a 100% repair plan

    Document and record additional damage and required parts on a damage report (including blend panels, small parts, on-time use fasteners, moldings, etc.).

    Notify the production manager/estimator regarding supplements based on additional damage/parts discovered

    Assist the metal technician with reassembly upon completion of the repair, as needed

    Perform light non-structural repairs – light finishing, sanding, minor bumper repairs, etc.

    Reassemble vehicle – replace final moldings, trim, and detail pieces

    Perform assigned duties safely and responsibly that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury

  • knowledge of structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement, and some mechanical work preferred

  • Utilize all required safety equipment, follow proper repair procedures, and adhere to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal

  • Keep personal work area organized and clean, return tools, and maintain parts/materials carts in an organized manner

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

  • ICAR and OEM training preferred

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • HS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification strongly preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate with others

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work orders

  • Multi-tasking; adapt quickly to the fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and pull

  • Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs

  • Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)

  • Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment

  • Standing, sitting, and walking

  • Performing repetitive motions
