Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician (MLS/MLT)
Location: Berlin, VT
Job Type: 18 Weeks Contract
Shifts: 8-hour rotating shifts Days (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and Evenings (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM).
Job Summary:
The MLS/MLT traveler will perform high-complexity testing and act as a generalist in a clinical laboratory setting. This position requires flexibility to work rotating day and evening shifts and contribute across all areas of the lab, including blood bank, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and microbiology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and evaluate high-complexity laboratory tests including immunohematology and microscopy.
- Draw blood and perform phlebotomy duties as required (phlebotomy is a must).
- Rotate through all departments as a generalist (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.).
- Participate in weekend coverage: One weekend per month, with potential to pick up additional shifts as needed.
- Follow established quality control procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Document results accurately using EPIC EMR (recent EPIC experience required).
- Ensure proper sample handling, labeling, and processing protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide timely and accurate patient diagnostics.
Qualifications:
- Certification: ASCP or AMT certification (equivalency verification required).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent lab experience; must have worked in EPIC within the past 2 years.
- Skills: Strong phlebotomy, generalist testing, and critical thinking skills.
- Other Requirements: Flexibility to float and rotate through departments based on staffing needs.
