We’re seeking a motivated and adaptable professional to join our team!

This position will remain open until filled, or at the discretion of Great Bay Community College.

CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.

SCOPE OF WORK: This position provides customer service support to prospective and current students regarding admissions, registration services, financial aid, and student accounts/payment policies. The position is a direct student service position supporting the needs and interests of all students, family members and the public. This position will report to the Vice President of Student Success and Enrollment Management at Great Bay Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides general assistance to students regarding admissions and enrollment functions, financial aid, billing policies and tuition payment options.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for student financial aid inquiries; handles all financial aid inquiries addressed to the college website and dedicated voicemail.
  • Assists students with the completion of the FAFSA and other related or required forms, and with the onboarding of students awarded Federal work-study. Also, advises students on the use of Web tools such as SIS, email, online payment plans, FAFSA and Canvas.
  • Advises students, families and the college community about certain financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes various software and databases such as Banner, MS Office, and other software tools to process recruitment and enrollment activities and information.
  • Refers complex financial aid, admissions, student payment, or registration matters to the appropriate CCSNH and college resources for resolution.
  • Assists with the onboarding of students who receive a Federal Work Study (FWS) award and with the hiring process for FWS students.
  • Communicates scholarship opportunities to the College community and assists at college events such as Open Houses, Orientations and Express Admissions.
  • Maintains knowledge of other administrative offices and college departments so that we provide proper advice and support to students.
  • Complies with all System, College, State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate degree from a recognized college. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in business, and/or education involving college admissions, marketing, promotion, sales involving providing product or program information to others and customer service. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong organizational and sales skills, written and oral communication skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with individuals of diverse cultures. A working knowledge of college or university operations and programs. Ability to work autonomously and find innovative solutions to problems.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS:

Knowledge of English, spelling, and arithmetic. Knowledge of office record keeping and reporting. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts and identify existing or potential problems. Ability to contribute to the development of sound operational procedures. Ability to make sound judgment in appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data or resources in organizing required information. Ability to speak with prospective students and explain programs sponsored by the college or department. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
