Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with 2+ years of clinical experience
- At least 1 year of experience in telemetry or medical-surgical nursing
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and Telemetry certifications
- Preferred skills include peripheral IV placement and competency in interpreting telemetry rhythms
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including LPNs, LNAs, and ancillary staff
- Reliable personal transportation recommended for easy commute and housing flexibility
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care across a 51-bed telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4-6 depending on shift
- Perform telemetry monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and immediate clinical response
- Administer medications using Pyxis system and document care through Epic electronic health records
- Support patients with complex post-operative, chronic, and end-of-life care needs
- Participate in unit floating assignments as required, contributing positively to team dynamics and patient safety
- Adhere to professional dress code and safety protocols to maintain a professional environment
Schedule and Work Environment:
- 12-hour shifts with options to pick up additional 8-hour shifts
- Self-scheduling system used; every other weekend scheduling and holiday coverage required
- No call responsibilities; charge nurse roles on unit do not include direct patient assignment
- Onsite free parking and optional use of provided scrubs
