Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity invites a licensed educator specializing in elementary special education to support K-4th grade students in a rural school setting in Saint Albans, VT. The position is a contract role running from March 2, 2026, to June 19, 2026, with a full-time schedule of five days per week and 40 hours each week. There is flexibility regarding case management, with openness to virtual case manager arrangements.
Qualifications:
- Vermont Elementary Teaching License required
- Special Education endorsement preferred
- Experience working with students in K-4th grade
- Ability to manage and support an assigned caseload of students
- Familiarity with strategies tailored to rural education environments advantageous
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to accommodate educational requirements
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Communicate with families and guardians to provide updates and support
- Maintain documentation and compliance with state education regulations
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
Location: Saint Albans, Vermont Elementary School in a rural community
Contract Duration: March 2, 2026 June 19, 2026
Salary Range: $35 to $40 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
