Job DescriptionMaintenance Tech
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Tech will inspect different plant equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required.
Responsibilities and Accountability
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Handling of basic repairs and maintenance
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as trained
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations for facility.
- Adhere to all ISO / SQF / HACCP personnel GMP practices, conduct and safety policies.
Position Coverage
In the absence of the Maintenance Worker due to illness, vacation, appointments or injury, the Maintenance Manager is required to perform the above listed position responsibilities.
Requirements
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items ranging from 25-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Mechanical Ability, Willing to learn
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Willingness to learn
- Highly skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws and drills
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Eye for detail
- Strong basic mathematical skills
- Ability to follow directions as well as multi-task
- Ability to maintain focus while working independently
- Strong focus on facility safety
