Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Menino Pavilion – Boston Medical Center
Type: Temporary Contract (Possibility of Perm)
Duration: September 22, 2025 – December 20, 2025
Shift: PM Shift | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: One weekend per month in a 4-week block; every other holiday; Monday through Friday availability required.
Note: No requested time off (RTO) will be approved during the initial 13-week contract.

Overview:

Boston Medical Center is seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians to join our team at the Menino Pavilion. This is a contract assignment designed for skilled professionals with a strong background in acute care and sterile processing operations. You will play a critical role in maintaining patient safety by ensuring proper decontamination, sterilization, and handling of surgical instruments and scopes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all sterile processing duties including:

    • Decontamination

    • Sterilization

    • Assembly (Prep & Pack)

    • Case Cart Picking

    • Endoscope Reprocessing

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and infection control.

  • Accurately document processes in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards.

  • Float between multiple departments within the hospital as needed.

  • Adhere to strict hospital policies regarding scheduling, holidays, and shift requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of acute care experience.

    • At least 1 year of recent travel experience in sterile processing.

  • Certifications (Required):

    • CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) by IAHCSMM OR

    • CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) by ASHCSP.

    • Certification must be current and maintained through ongoing CEUs.

  • Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED (documentation required).

  • Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

  • Strong background in orthopedic instrumentation and micro-instruments.
