Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long-Term Care Job
Job Description
Job DescriptionStep into a rewarding role as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in Long-Term Care, based in Middlebury, Vermont. This traveling assignment invites you to deliver compassionate, resident-centered care that enhances daily living and supports families through every stage of aging. Starting on 01/08/2026 for a multi-week engagement with opportunities for extension, you’ll bring skill, empathy, and a steady hand to a community that values your expertise. The compensation reflects the commitment you bring, with a weekly pay range of $1,403-$1,450. While guaranteed hours are determined during onboarding, you’ll find a stable, engaging environment that honors your professional goals and personal needs. This is more than a job—it's a pathway to meaningful impact and ongoing growth in geriatric nursing.
Location Benefits: Nestled in the scenic foothills of the Green Mountains, Middlebury offers a welcoming, small-town atmosphere with easy access to Vermont’s natural beauty. Picture autumn foliage painting the landscape, lake breezes along nearby water bodies, and outdoor adventures that fit your rhythm—hiking, skiing, or tranquil strolls through town streets lined with local shops and farms. Vermont’s healthcare community emphasizes close collaboration, patient advocacy, and high-quality elder care, providing you with a solid professional network and opportunities to work across facilities within the state and beyond. In addition, you may have the chance to explore other U.S. locations through our program, expanding your clinical perspective while retaining the supportive feel of a single, familiar community. Alongside your work, you can savor regional delights—from farm-to-table cuisine and farmers’ markets to seasonal events that celebrate Vermont’s arts, culture, and outdoor recreation. The beauty of this state, its clean air, walkable neighborhoods, and strong sense of community, creates an environment where you can recharge after shifts and bring renewed energy to your residents each day.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality basic nursing care under the supervision of RNs and charge staff, including medication administration (as permitted by state regulations), vital signs monitoring, wound and skin care, diabetic foot care, assistance with activities of daily living, mobility support, and fall-prevention strategies. Assist with care planning updates, participate in careful documentation of progress notes and changes in residents’ conditions, and communicate clearly with families to ensure care continuity. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized plans, maintain a safe and dignified environment, and respond promptly to changes in residents’ conditions. Maintain infection control standards, sanitize equipment, and ensure compliance with LTC regulatory requirements and state guidelines.
- Growth opportunities: Deepen expertise in geriatric care within long-term settings, expand skills in wound care management, mobility and assistive device usage, and participate in ongoing training to enhance assessment, documentation accuracy, and care coordination. Our program supports skill advancement through targeted training and mentorship, helping you grow within the long-term care specialty and prepare for broader clinical responsibilities.
- Benefits and support: Competitive weekly pay within the stated range, with the possibility of a sign-on bonus and housing assistance to ease transition. Extension opportunities are available depending on facility needs and your demonstrated performance. The program provides comprehensive travel support, including 24/7 assistance from our dedicated team, ensuring you have immediate help whether you’re onboarding at a new site or navigating unforeseen challenges on assignment. You’ll also have access to a broad network of clinical professionals for collaborative learning and problem-solving across assignments.
- Additional considerations: While you’ll be dedicated to long-term care environments during this assignment, the experience can broaden your professional portfolio, enabling you to apply learned practices across other LTC settings, with continued opportunities to return to Vermont or explore other locations within the U.S. The hours and pay rates provided are estimates and may vary; final compensation packages and any guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
Company Values: Our organization is built on empowering staff through clear pathways for career advancement, mentoring, and a supportive work culture. We are committed to your well-being and professional growth, fostering an environment where clinical excellence, compassionate care, and teamwork are the standard. By prioritizing education, open communication, and work-life balance, we help you thrive as you deliver meaningful care to residents and build lasting relationships with colleagues and families.
