Position Summary
As a welder, you will be using your experience with hand welding operations on a wide range of metal and alloys for complex precision assemblies involving a considerable amount of welding to high strength and pressure requirements. You will also use your experience in the fabrication of pressure vessels and welding a variety of materials, as well as pipefitting (preferred). Considerable skill will be required fusing dissimilar metals, obtaining maximum weld strength, and avoiding distortion.
Essential Functions
- Performs high quality GTAW, FCAW, and SMAW welds.
- Reads and understands drawings and supporting manufacturing documentation.
- Uses precision measuring instruments.
- Able to layout, fit up and fabricate steel, stainless and aluminum weldments.
- Able to work with little supervision and be a self-starter.
Required Education and Experience
- High School/Technical School graduate or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience with welding a variety of materials
- Experience with 6G TIG pipe welding - Required
- Short run/prototype experience.
- Experience working with large parts.
