Responsibilities:

• Ability to weigh and mix epoxy using an electronic gram scale, operate air actuated dispensers and read work orders.
• Mixes, matches, and applies paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes to various manufactured articles and surfaces.
• Completes touchups and arranges large painting projects.
• Applies paint to surfaces including metal, wood, plastic, canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets using spray guns, rollers, and/or brushes.
• Removes previous finishes, grinds, scrapes, sands, sandblasts, buffs, primes, seals, and performs other necessary preparation work prior to painting.
• Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated and covers surrounding surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.
• Fills cracks, holes, dents, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Calculates amounts of required materials and estimate costs.
• Selects and mixes paint to produce desired color, according to specifications.
• Applies several coats according to paint directions and applies touchups or additional coats.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience
• Excellent eye and hand coordination.
• Knowledge and skill of paint brush selection, jewelry painting, antiquing, and wiping.
