Job DescriptionDescriptionWe’re currently looking for a Temporary Adult Caregiver in Andover, MA 01810
A wonderful family located near the border of Tewksbury and Salem, NH (right off I-93) is seeking a temporary caregiver for their 69-year-old mother who will be recovering from knee surgery starting October 9, 2025. The client uses a walker and will need help with mobility, hygiene, meals, and general recovery support. They experience occasional anxiety and panic attacks, so a calm and emotionally attuned caregiver is ideal. Meals may need to be prepared downstairs and brought upstairs.
Care is needed daily from 10am–5pm for the first week, then will gradually taper off over the next 4–6 weeks depending on recovery progress. A spouse is present in the home and may assist as needed.
Start date: October 9, 2025
End date/Length of Position: 4–6 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Sunday (Week 1: 10am–5pm; flexible hours as care needs decrease)
Compensation: $30 per hour
Responsibilities
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assistance with walking (uses walker) and occasional lifting (from bed to shower, etc)
- Showering and general hygiene
- Meal preparation (healthy, low-sodium Mediterranean diet)
- Light housekeeping related to the client
- Medication and physical therapy reminders
- Performing blood pressure/pulse checks
- Support with anxiety and panic attacks
- Navigating stairs and bringing meals upstairs
Requirements
- REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ Years of prior experience in adult or post-operative care
- Ability to assist safely and empathetically with lifting and mobility (153lbs)
- Emotionally supportive, patient, and trustworthy
- Legally auuthorized to work in the U.S.
- Comfortable working in a home with stairs
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to pass a background check and social media screening
- CPR certification (or willing to become certified)
- Provide two care-related references
CompensationThis position pays $30 per hour.
