Cooperative for Human Services Inc. (CHS) is looking for compassionate and reliable Direct Support Workers to join our mission-driven team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling, self-directed lives in their communities. You’ll provide hands-on support, promote independence, and help build safe, meaningful, and person-centered living environments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support daily living and assist individuals with personal care, household tasks, transportation, and participation in community activities.
  • Promote choice and advocacy by empowering the individuals we support to make their own decisions and lead self-directed lives.
  • Foster relationships and build inclusive opportunities for social and community engagement.
  • Ensure health and safety by monitoring wellbeing, administering medication (with training), and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Document services provided and actively contribute to the individual’s support plans and progress tracking.
  • Be a role model in professionalism, communication, and teamwork.

Requirements:What You Bring:

  • A heart for human services and a commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar caregiving or human services role preferred.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs and provide physical support when needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow support plans.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Willingness to complete mandatory training (First Aid/CPR, MAP, Human Rights, etc.)
