Our client, a well-established specialty distribution company, is seeking a VP or Director of IT to lead end-to-end technology strategy and execution. This family-owned organization has served its market for decades and is positioned for meaningful growth.
With a collaborative team of roughly 50–75 employees and strong revenue performance, individual contributions are highly visible. The business moves quickly, rewards initiative, and blends a mission-driven culture with a practical, hands-on approach to getting things done.
This is a high-impact leadership role that combines strategic planning with hands-on technical delivery. The leader in this seat will own the full technology stack—covering NetSuite ERP, ecommerce operations, warehouse systems, business intelligence, and cybersecurity—while improving efficiency, scalability, and the overall customer experience.
Key Focus Areas:
- Technology Strategy: Create and deliver a multi-year roadmap aligned to growth objectives, including digital transformation and warehouse modernization initiatives
- Business Intelligence & Analytics: Develop and evolve BI capabilities using NetSuite and ecommerce data to generate insights on customer behavior, inventory management, forecasting, and sales performance
- NetSuite ERP Leadership: Oversee configuration, customizations, integrations, data integrity, user administration, and continuous improvement across Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain
- Ecommerce Infrastructure: Lead ecommerce operations to ensure uptime, performance, security, and smooth integrations across payments, shipping, inventory, and customer data systems
- Team & Vendor Management: Manage a small internal IT team and lead external vendor relationships supporting development and systems integration
- Warehouse Technology & Operations: Advance the warehouse toward fully integrated, tech-enabled fulfillment through automation, scanning, barcoding, and real-time ERP connectivity to improve throughput, accuracy, and scalability
Requirements
Technical:
- Integration expertise (Celigo, REST/SOAP APIs, ETL frameworks)
- Advanced NetSuite ERP administration (configuration, customization, integrations, data management)
- Warehouse systems integration experience (WMS, scanning/automation, ERP integration)
- Ecommerce platform experience (Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, or similar)
- Strong programming foundation with hands-on coding capability (beyond architectural oversight)
Experience:
- Demonstrated success implementing and optimizing NetSuite ERP
- Experience leading internal teams and managing external vendors
- Strong project management skills with disciplined UAT and testing practices
- Track record integrating ERP, ecommerce, warehouse, and marketing platforms
- 10+ years leading IT functions in ecommerce, retail, or distribution settings

Preferred
- BI platforms and data warehousing experience
- Specialty distribution or B2B ecommerce background
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Knowledge of data privacy, PCI compliance, and security best practices

- Base Salary: $200,000 - $225,000
