Working under the direction of a certified teacher, the Special Education Paraprofessional will assist students with special needs and support the teacher with classroom activities and clerical functions.

Psychology is an exciting and changing field that has an impact on your life. Although a little more than a century old as a formal discipline, the study of psychology has revolutionized how we look at others and ourselves. While psychologists are involved in a broad range of specialties, they share the common goal of attempting to understand behavior. Hopefully, throughout this course you will find that many of the topics covered have relevance to your own life. You may find that you look at some situations differently, that you have some new insights into human behaviors, including your own.
In combining the study of psychology with the study and practice of mindfulness—the “awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally”—as outlined by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D (and to which he often adds “in the service of self-understanding and wisdom”), this course offers a rich opportunity to put into practice aspects of positive psychology, the science of well-being and strengths and a rapidly growing branch of psychology in 2021 (“Jon Kabat-Zinn: Defining Mindfulness” 2017).

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the Dental Materials lab instructor using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.</li>
<li>Facilitate skill evaluations and hands-on skills to foster student engagement and learning.</li>
<li>Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.</li>
<li>Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Education: Licensed Dental Hygienist in New Hampshire with a DANB CDA certification.</li>
<li>Experience: Recent experience with 4 handed chairside dentistry</li>
<li>Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME.</li>
</ul>
