Dephy is looking for a candidate who was born to be an engineer: someone that has an urge to understand how things work, and who gets excited when there is no known solution to the problem at hand. We are curious, creative, and passionate engineers looking for a team member to help us tackle challenges at the forefront of wearable robotics. Come help us transition mobility exoskeletons from labs and treadmills to the real world: cities, trails, and mountains.
Description of Role
Your task is easy to understand but challenging to do well: predict when the user’s foot will next touch the ground and determine how much assistive torque should be applied. There are a few constraints: it has to be done real-time on a small microcontroller, the inputs are noisy, the sensors are limited and imperfect, the terrain, gait and/or gait speed might be changing, the user adapts to your previous actions, and a machine learning algorithm with a 1% false positive rate will result in the user tripping every 100m.
As a controls engineer at Dephy you will have a direct effect on deciding the appropriate behavior of our devices while worn by a user. You will do extensive R&amp;D to take data from our sensors, understand what a user is doing, and decide how the motors should respond. This process involves numerous iterations of analyzing data, prototyping simulated solutions, moving simulations to hardware, building custom tools, testing on people, and debugging.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

<li>Quality activities in a manufacturing environment including quality systems improvement, documentation of quality requirements, training of the personnel. Use the tools of quality and other statistical methods to solve manufacturing problems. Provide analysis and judgment to production regarding acceptability of product for customer use.</li>
<li>Manage Complaint Management for Blow mold by further developing the complaint process. Coordinate the containment activity for controlling suspect product issues as a result of internal or external sources.</li>
<li>Support new product introduction and investigation activities including review of PFMEA and initial control plans, including participation in APQP as of needed. Assist &amp; co-ordinate activities of PPAP documentation for the all manufacturing area’s and oversee complete PPAP function for new and existing projects.</li>
<li>Problem solving analysis for internal, customer and supplier defects, create countermeasure reports, and present as required. Utilize 5Why, 8D and other similar analysis methods to assure deep analysis and system wide countermeasure implementation.</li>
<li>Develop, maintain and improve the entire dashboard for overview of the scrap and Key performance indicators for Quality. Participate in and assist in effective analysis and corrective measures for scrap and internal defects.</li>
<li>Provide expertise in SPC concepts including process stability, capability, and reaction to “statistically out of control” situations.</li>
<li>Maintain and assure traceability of archived documents in document control system. Assure all QA/ Production documentation is aligned, reviewed in required frequencies and updated when needed.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Monitors the needed process, performs capability studies and initiates actions to improve them. Initiates continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap and waste in the series production process.</li>

Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports” was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in long-term partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions. 
 
The Facility Operator is responsible for maintaining FMC facilities in order to ensure clean, safe and healthy facilities are available. Routine maintenance and janitorial functions of the facility while it is open to the public, is required. Responsible for driving/operating ice resurfacer. The Facility Operator reports directly to the Arena Manager and/or Facility Supervisor and will work alone and with other positions as required by the facility activities schedule. Work schedule will include nights, weekends and some holidays as necessary to meet the needs of our patrons and to complete job responsibilities. 
No prior experience in an ice rink or ice sports required. We will train. 
Responsibilities include:
