Deciphera is seeking a Senior Manager of Patient Support Operations. The ideal candidate has deep reimbursement knowledge, experience with hands on case management in patient support programs, as well as experience with management of outsourced hub and copay vendors. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, collaborative team supporting two rare oncology products as well as potential future launches.
The Sr. Manager will be responsible for the operations of the Deciphera AccessPoint™ Patient Support Program, which seeks to facilitate a positive patient experience by maximizing patient access and affordability for patients taking Deciphera’s products. The right candidate for this role is solution-oriented, detailed, creative, organized, flexible, and adept at working in an unstructured environment. This will be a critical role, interacting with many internal stakeholders within Deciphera, as well as external vendor partners.
This position will report to the Director Patient Access and Reimbursement as part of the Market Access team and will work either remotely within the US or on-site at our Waltham, MA office. Business travel may be required up to 10% of working hours, including traveling to visit patient support vendors.
What You’ll Do:
<ul>
<li>Ensure ongoing operational excellence of hub and other support program partners.&nbsp; Understand the nuances of individual cases and be able to offer guidance to hub staff as well as recognize trends and patterns that must be addressed to meet the overall needs of patients and the business.</li>
<li>Work with patient support/hub vendors, copay assistance vendors, and specialty pharmacy partners to manage cases and troubleshoot issues by providing expertise in Deciphera’s products, business rules, and the reimbursement process.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of Deciphera’s products including nuances between the different patient journeys, demographics, payer access, and patient needs. Apply that knowledge so that patient support offerings continue to ensure services meet evolving patient needs.</li>
<li>Manage specific patient cases by gaining an understanding of payer requirements for approval and communicating this info to hub staff. Manage coordination between Field Access, SPs, and Providers on accurate documentation specific to appropriate patients.</li>
<li>Responsible for quality monitoring of program activities including reviewing cases via case notes, documents, and discussion, conducting call monitoring, and proactively reviewing data to identify discrepancies and potential process improvements. Share feedback with vendors and Deciphera’s leadership. Document and summarize findings to facilitate improvements.</li>
<li>Work with vendors to ensure ongoing compliance with contract requirements, business rules, and pertinent legal and compliance regulations.</li>
<li>Lead recurring calls with vendors, specialty pharmacy partners, and field access teams to review patient cases and troubleshoot issues.</li>
<li>Provide support for field access teams to help respond to customer inquiries or complaints. Oversee, manage and share responsibility for risk issue resolution and root cause analysis as it relates to customers.</li>
<li>Handle escalations requiring direct contact with physicians or patients.</li>
<li>Maintain understanding of patient support and access environment and regulations broadly and apply that understanding to current program operations and results.</li>
<li>Analyze hub and copay data to validate accuracy and completeness, prepare reports, and present program results.</li>
<li>Help to coordinate and lead quarterly business reviews with vendor partners.</li>
<li>Work with the Director of Patient Access and Reimbursement to continually improve program operations through suggesting and implementing new projects, initiatives, and business processes.</li>

Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree required.</li>
<li>5+ years of direct Patient Support Program experience supporting pharmaceutical products with 2+ years of hub vendor management. Rare disease and oncology experience preferred.</li>
<li>Expertise in hub, patient support, adherence, and financial assistance (copay cards &amp; PAP) program operations and case management.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of the access environment (including Medicare Part D) and the mechanics of payer reimbursement (prior authorizations, appeals, pharmacy claim adjudication, etc) in the US broadly and specifically for oncology and rare disease medications.</li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA and recent legislation (e.g. the IRA).</li>
<li>Must exhibit patient focus and empathy.</li>
<li>Must have a compliance mindset and exercise discretion with personal patient information and other sensitive information.</li>
<li>Ability to manage hub and copay support vendor relationships and take accountability for vendor performance.</li>
<li>Ability to work with data from different sources to glean insights.</li>
<li>Proficient with MS windows, word, excel and PowerPoint.</li>
<li>Must be self-motivated and able to plan, prioritize, execute, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.</li>

Deciphera is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $151,000 - $208,000. OBJECTIVES

<li>Maintain the health and quality of plants by implementing proper watering, pruning, and fertilization techniques.</li>
<li>Efficiently and safely operate skid steers, wheel loaders, and mini skid steers to assist with unloading, organizing, and transporting plant materials.</li>
<li>Assist customers with plant selection, order preparation, and loading to ensure a smooth and professional experience.</li>
<li>Conduct regular inventory checks, restocking plants and maintaining nursery displays for optimal presentation and organization.</li>
<li>Ensure the nursery remains clean, safe, and well-maintained by regularly removing debris, monitoring plant conditions, and organizing materials.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with team members to improve efficiency and maintain a positive working environment.</li>
<li>Adhere to all safety policies and procedures when operating equipment and handling nursery materials.</li>

COMPETENCIES

<li>Strong knowledge of plant care, species identification, and horticultural best practices.</li>
<li>Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment, such as skid steers, wheel loaders, and mini skid steers.</li>
<li>Physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly.</li>
<li>Attention to detail to maintain plant health and organization within the nursery.</li>
<li>Understanding of safety protocols for equipment operation and nursery maintenance.</li>

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
<ul>
<li>MA Hoisting License 2A required or willingness to obtain.</li>
<li>Experience operating skid steers, wheel loaders, and mini skid steers.</li>
<li>Previous experience in a nursery, garden center, or similar outdoor work environment is highly preferred.</li>
<li>A valid drivers license is a plus but not required.</li>
</ul>
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>The Nursery Associate role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks. This includes frequent lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. The position involves operating heavy machinery and handling large plant materials. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and sustaining a high level of physical activity throughout the workday.</li>

The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with excellent communication skills. You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help clients.
Responsibilities
