Milford Recreation is looking for dependable, conscientious individuals to fill the position of Seasonal Lifeguards for the Summer Season of 2025. Full time positions may include swim lesson instruction.
The lifeguard shall perform tasks of lifesaving and general water safety at Keyes Pool. The lifeguard implements all water safety policies and procedures and supervises patrons in and around the swimming pool.
This is a seasonal position. Work is performed out of doors in an environment which includes exposure to physical elements and/or to a number of disagreeable working conditions. 
Rate - Starting at $15.00/hr

Applicants must have current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (or equivalent); American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or equivalent) and be a minimum of 16 years old. 
The Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center will provide a FREE American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification course for qualified lifeguard candidates, provided you work for a minimum of 6 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months after completion of the course.
Potential candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of hire and be able to complete the following:

We are looking to train coaches during the winter season (Jan-Mar), with the goal of coaching in the Spring season (Apr-June). A Typical Day as a Coach:

<li>Lead engaging activities at local parks, schools, or indoor fields using our curriculum that emphasizes skill development and character building.</li>

Essential Functions 
• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area. 
• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool. 
• Ensures program fidelity per level description and teaching guidelines. • Performs equipment checks &amp; inventory to ensure proper working condition and available as needed. 
• Delivers quality teaching of private and group swim lessons in group and individualized settings in accordance with YMCA instruction standards. 
• Identifies and celebrates the success of members and program participants. • Attend all staff meetings and in-service training. 
• All other duties assigned by management. Equipment and Software • Various pool area equipment and chemicals.
 • ADP for personal and operational timecard management.
• Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook, OneDrive, Excel Teams etc. Qualifications
• Must demonstrate swim lesson instruction skills in accordance with YMCA standards. 
• Current Lifeguard certification required. 
• Ability to communicate and get along with people of diverse backgrounds is required.
