About This Position We are seeking a field teacher to lead hands-on, nature-based Youth and Family Programs at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (Wellfleet) and Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary (Barnstable). Field teachers work closely with our year-round education and conservation science staff to provide coastal habitat and wildlife education experiences that engage the public with ongoing Mass Audubon conservation work. Long Pasture and Wellfleet Bay are home to a variety of habitats, including salt marsh, sandy beach, and tidal flats, as well as forest and freshwater wetlands. SEEKING: We are seeking a full time Assistant School Age Group Leader for our Monument Square Early Childhood and School Age Center located in North Adams.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 
The Monument Square Early Childhood and School Age Center provides care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children in a renovated elementary school in North Adams. The Center is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care for 82 children.
 
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting with planning and executing an active, nurturing, and stimulating school age program in line with the philosophy and goals of Child Care of the Berkshires.
 
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>Must be willing to become EEC Group Leader qualified; at a minimum, 9 months of previous experience working with school age children, 3 months which must be in a licensed school age program. Prefer degree in early childhood education or related field or advanced training and relevant experience.</li>

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

WORK SCHEDULE AND HOURS: This is a 40 hours per week, year round non-exempt position. The center is open Monday through Friday, schedule will be based on an 8 hour opening or closing shift. Some evening work may be needed to attend training sessions.
