A Day in the Life of a Principal Engineer

Lawn Care Field Service Technician

Job DescriptionAre you looking for an exciting new opportunity to advance your career in electrical engineering? Asplundh Electrical Testing (AET) is seeking highly skilled and motivated Relay Technicians, Sr. Relay Technicians, and Field Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support during fieldwork, as well as preparing internal and client reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;Regional and Travel opportunities open.&nbsp;Responsibilities:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Install, adjust, and troubleshoot relays with technical capabilities</li>
<li>Support the sales effort by assisting with labor estimates and job walks</li>
<li>Remain up-to-date with all safety and technical training; attend company sponsored safety training when required</li>
<li>Collect field data and perform arc flash studies, coordination studies, and short circuit analysis</li>
<li>Provide technical insight concerning substation systems and electrical power systems</li>
<li>Adhere to all company, industry, and client safety protocols and standards ensuring our “Safety First” priority</li>
<li>Install, troubleshoot, commission, test, and maintain protective relaying equipment</li>
<li>Calibrate and perform functional tests on microprocessor-based protective relays for high-voltage substations</li>
<li>Conduct end-to-end relay testing using Doble ProTest software or Protection Suite</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;Minimum Qualifications:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Must be 18 years of age or older</li>
<li>Professional skills in protective relay logic, protection schemes, write-ups, and documentation of test plans related to full commissioning substations</li>
<li>Knowledge of Doble ProTest or Protection Suite</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with a proven commitment to safety and customer service</li>
<li>NETA certification is strongly encouraged</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;Education &amp; Experience:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 0-3 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing protective relays in high-voltage substations</li>
<li>Experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and similar equipment</li>
<li>Two-year degree or technical school graduate; or relative field experience</li>

Assistant Field Service Engineer

Job DescriptionDescription:
Sullivan Tire, an Employee-Owned company, has an opportunity for a Field Service Technician within our LiftWorks team. The Field Service Technician installs and maintain lifts and other shop equipment while delivering the highest quality and customer satisfaction. This position includes travel to sites all over New England with occasional overnight stays required.
 
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Properly install and service lifts and other shop equipment by following best practice standards and procedures.</li>
<li>Perform periodic qualified lift inspections and prepare estimates for repairs.</li>
<li>Operate equipment under supervision, including, but not limited to, an excavator and skid steer.</li>
<li>Manage job sites not requiring the use of heavy equipment. May direct the work of other Lift Technicians depending on the job site.</li>
<li>Complete job-related administrative tasks such as customer billing and company purchases of equipment.</li>
<li>Responsible for identifying additional opportunities for services by providing information on the features, benefits, and pricing of lift inspections.</li>
<li>Maintain excellent customer relations.</li>
<li>Assume other responsibilities as needed.</li>
</ul>
Education/Experience: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Ability to lift 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Work on ladders and lifts that can be up to 25 ft. high. </li>
<li>A valid Driver's License.</li>
<li>Must meet DOT compliance requirements. </li>
<li>Ability to drive vehicles over 10,000 GVW.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications and Skills:
<ul>
<li>Customer service focus </li>
<li>Proficient in power tools, jackhammers, pipe threaders, and concrete saw operation</li>
<li>Basic understanding of the automotive tire and auto service industry</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Team player who can also work independently.</li>
<li>Strong Mechanical and electrical aptitude a plus.</li>
<li>Hydraulic license and Lift Inspector Certification training will be provided.</li>
